Second Stage Round 11: Hogsbo - Eskilstuna 97-84

Date: March 20, 2016
Rather expected game in Goteborg where 5th ranked Eskilstuna (5-7) was defeated by second ranked Hogsbo (10-4) 97-84 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hogsbo. Eskilstuna was better in third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hogsbo forced 21 Eskilstuna turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Eskilstuna's players. It was a great evening for Lucas Brehm (-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward R.J. Slawson (206-92, college: Jacksonville) helped adding 18 points and 15 rebounds. Hogsbo's coach Jonas Fredrikson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Hannes Widell (183-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Hogsbo maintains second place in Superettan with 10-4 record having just one point less than leader Solna Branten. Loser Eskilstuna keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Hogsbo will have a break next round. Eskilstuna will play at home against KFUM Uppsala (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
