Regular Season Round 24: Campus Promete - Cadi La Seu 65-66

Twelfth-ranked Campus Promete (8-16) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Cadi La Seu (15-9) in Logrono on Sunday. The visitors from Seu D'urgell managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 18-8. But Campus Promete won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cadi La Seu shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Campus Promete only scored five points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian-Australian guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and international center Laura Gil (190-92, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Paula Estebas (175-93) with 21 points and American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) scored 15 points. Campus Promete's coach Andreu Bou tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cadi La Seu maintains fifth position with 15-9 record. Loser Campus Promete keeps the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Cadi La Seu will meet at home Zamarat (#8) in the next round. Campus Promete will play against Gipuzkoa UPV (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
