Regular Season Round 48: Tokyo Cinq R. - Shinshu BW 90-97

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Shinshu BW (21-23) defeated on the road 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-39) 97-90. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Tokyo Cinq R. won second period 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Shinshu BW outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 46-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Shinshu BW brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) supported him with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Even 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Cinq R.. Guard Niisato Chisho (183-85) added 21 points. Shinshu BW maintains seventh position with 21-23 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost 33th consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 39 games lost. Shinshu BW's next round opponent will be Gunma (#9) at home. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Niigata Albirex and hope to win that game.
