Regular Season Round 23: Ardoi - Estela 72-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ardoi as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-A. Ardoi defeated 4th placed Estela in Zizur Mayor 72-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Estela. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-A. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-21 Estela's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-67 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Alexander Calvo (180-91) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Pope Urtasun (187-80) accounted for 10 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Ardoi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Riley Stockton (192-92, college: Seattle Pacific) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 4 steals and Pablo Sanchez (198-81) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Estela in the defeat. Ardoi have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pielagos and Santurtzi. Estela at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Easo. Estela will play next round against Clavijo trying to get back on the winning streak. Ardoi will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked La Fecha at Arroyo Encomienda.
