Everything went according to plan when first ranked Albacete (17-3) beat at home 7th ranked Real Canoe (11-9) 73-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 43-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Albacete outrebounded Real Canoe 43-22 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Real Canoe was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Cuban forward Georvys Elias (199-81) helped adding 10 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Real Canoe's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Albacete have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 17-3 record. Newly promoted Real Canoe keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Albacete will face league's second-placed Quintanar on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Canoe will play against Tenerife Naut.
