Regular Season Round 24: Vanoli CR - VL Pesaro 77-72
Date: March 20, 2016
Very predictable result when third ranked Vanoli Cremona (17-7) defeated at home 14th ranked VL Pesaro (9-15) 77-72. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as VL Pesaro took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vanoli Cremona took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. It was a good game for American guard Tyrus McGee (188-91, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with 13 points. The other American import guard Elston Turner (195-90, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Vanoli Cremona's coach Cesare Pancotto allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Austin Daye (211-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Lithuanian center Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) added 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for VL Pesaro. Five Vanoli Cremona and four VL Pesaro players scored in double figures. Vanoli Cremona have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-7 record having just two points less than leader EA7 Armani. VL Pesaro at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Vanoli Cremona's next round opponent will be O.Lavoro BO (#15) in Bologna which should be an easy win for them. VL Pesaro will play at home against Juvecaserta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
