Second Stage Round 11: Brahe Basket - Wetterbygden 42-73
Date: March 20, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Huskvarna where 9th ranked Brahe Basket (1-18) was rolled over by fourth ranked Wetterbygden (12-7) 73-42 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Wetterbygden. Brahe Basket was better in fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wetterbygden held Brahe Basket to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Wetterbygden forced 27 Brahe Basket turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Albin Eriksson (189-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Guard Kristoffer Gronhage (188-92) helped adding 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Karl Ble Cato (-94) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Merim Tokovic (208-86) scored 7 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Wetterbygden. They moved-up to third place in BEHS forts. Brahe Basket lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 18 games lost. Wetterbygden will face Helsingborg (#6) on the road in the next round. Brahe Basket will play against RIG Mark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
