There was no surprise in Junin where 10th ranked Argentino (17-26) was defeated by fifth ranked Quimsa (24-19) 76-70 on Tuesday. Argentino was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Quimsa made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Quimsa outrebounded Argentino 36-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import center Robert Battle (205-81, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) produced 13 points and 4 assists and swingman Fernando Funes (193-83) added 9 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts.
