Regular Season Round 8: Obregon - Agua Prieta 95-92

A very interesting game took place in Ciudad Obregon. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Vaqueros (2-5) to ninth ranked Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (2-3) 95-92 in the fight for the eighth place. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Vaqueros' 44. The winners were led by naturalized American swingman Adam Arciniega (201, college: Bethel, KS) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Landon Atterberry (198, college: LIU Brooklyn) supported him with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Even 30 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) did not help to save the game for Vaqueros. His fellow American import point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh) added 26 points for the guests. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon moved-up to eighth place. Vaqueros at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon's next round opponent will be again Vaqueros (#9) in Agua Prieta.
