Even 25 points by Pedro Lima (191-87) did not help to save the game for Sao Jose/Vinac. American guard Scott Rodgers (191-87, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) added 15 points and 7 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sao Jose/Vinac's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-5 record. Sao Jose/Vinac lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Flamengo will play against Mogi (#5) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round. Sao Jose/Vinac will play at home against Macae (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
