Second Stage Round 9: Grodno-93 - Tsmoki II 90-57

Date: March 23, 2016
The game between Top Four teams took place in Grodno. Leader host Grodno-93 (25-0) smashed 4th placed Tsmoki II (9-15) 90-57. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Tsmoki II was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tsmoki II to just 7 points in third quarter. The former international guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89) nailed 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Artem Malkov (185-88) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Maksim Sazonau (202-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Tsmoki II in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Grodno-93 have an impressive series of twenty five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-0 record. Tsmoki II lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Grodno-93 will play against league's second-placed COR-Borisfen in Mogilev in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsmoki II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Impuls BGUIR.
