There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Universitario de Ferrol (10-15) lost to eleventh ranked CREF Hola (10-15) in Madrid 74-80. Universitario de Ferrol was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. CREF Hola dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Universitario de Ferrol's 26. They outrebounded Universitario de Ferrol 51-25 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import center Shakeya Leary (189-90, college: Syracuse) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
