Rather predictable result when sixth ranked BC Rakvere (14-16) defeated at home 8th ranked Valga (9-20) 95-87 on Wednesday. Valga was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BC Rakvere dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Valga's 30. They outrebounded Valga 40-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BC Rakvere made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was international forward Janari Joesaar (198-93, college: UTRGV) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (190-87) chipped in 24 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for BC Rakvere. They moved-up to fifth place. Valga lost their third game in a row.
