No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kvarner (14-6) beat 8th ranked Alkar Sinj (8-12) in Rijeka 104-87 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Kvarner led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 64.4 percent from the field. Kvarner shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Petar Maric (196-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) notched 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and point guard Mauro Veljacic (183-93) supported him with 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five Kvarner players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) by power forward Stjepan Tesija (206-89, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for Alkar Sinj. Domagoj Kanaet (197-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kvarner moved-up to second place. Loser Alkar Sinj keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Jolly JBS.
