Ninth-ranked Viterbo (10-14) made lots of trouble for top-ranked La Spezia (24-0) on Wednesday. The visitors from La Spezia managed to secure only one-point victory 59-58. However their fans expected much easier game. Viterbo was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-16 charge of La Spezia, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 26 Viterbo turnovers. The best player for the winners was Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) who scored 8 points and 14 rebounds.
