Regular Season Round 24: Vicenza - Albino 52-40

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Albino (12-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Vicenza (17-7) 52-40 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 52-40. Vicenza dominated on the defensive end, holding Albino to just 6 points in second and fourth quarters and to 14 points in second half. Vicenza forced 34 Albino turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Anna Zimerle (172-76) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Guard Maria Pegoraro (174-89) chipped in 9 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 9 points and 8 rebounds and guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Albino's coach Michele Pasqua let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vicenza maintains third position in A2 with 17-7 record having nine points less than leader Broni. Loser Albino dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Vicenza will face league's leader Broni on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Albino will play against the league's second-placed Team Crema (#2) and hope to win that game.
