Regular Season Round 24: Broni - Pordenone 72-45

Undefeated leader Broni delivered the twenty fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Pordenone (11-13) 72-45. It looked good early as Pordenone took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Broni had a 19-6 second period charge getting the lead and Pordenone was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 45-72. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pordenone to just 6 points in second quarter. Broni dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Pordenone's 22. They outrebounded Pordenone 44-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Enrica Pavia (176-89) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by center Sara Madera (186-0) did not help to save the game for Pordenone. Point guard Elisa Pinzan (171-99) added 17 points. Pordenone's coach Andrea Da Prato gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Broni maintains first position in A2 with 25-0 record. Newly promoted Pordenone dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. Broni's next round opponent will be Vicenza (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Pordenone will play against Virtus Cagliari (#14) and hope to win that game.
