Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (10-14) lost on the road to sixth ranked Le Portel (14-10) 83-73. The game without a history. Le Portel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Le Portel outrebounded Charleville-Mezieres 42-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jessie Begarin (191-88, agency: Court Side) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) who recorded 22 points and American-British point guard Akeem Williams (178-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Le Portel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Provence Basket. Charleville-Mezieres lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Le Portel's next round opponent will be Souffelweyersheim (#14) at home and are hoping to win another game. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Orchesien BC and hope to win that game.
