Regular Season Round 29: Franca - L.Sorocaba 95-89

Date: March 25, 2016
Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 11th ranked Liga Sorocaba (8-19) was defeated by ninth ranked Vivo/Franca (13-14) 95-89 on Friday. Liga Sorocaba trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 89-95 at the end of the game. Vivo/Franca shot 61.5 percent from the field. Liga Sorocaba was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international Bruno Irigoyen (196-92) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Isaac Goncalves (196-90) chipped in 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. Guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and forward Renato Scholz (197-88) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vivo/Franca moved-up to eighth place. Liga Sorocaba lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Vivo/Franca will face league's second-placed Paschoalotto/Bauru on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liga Sorocaba will play against Paulistano (#6) and hope to win that game.
