Regular Season Round 25: Trefl Sopot - Torun 55-84

There was no surprise in Sopot where 15th ranked Trefl (5-22) was crushed by fourth ranked Twarde Pierniki (21-6) 84-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Twarde Pierniki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl's 28. The former international swingman Michal Michalak (197-93) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 7 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and South Sudanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Twarde Pierniki have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Trefl lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 22 games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face AZS Polfarmex (#6) in Kutno in the next round. Trefl will play on the road against MKS Start (#17) in Lublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
