Regular Season Round 25: Wilki Morskie - PGE Turow 94-93

The most exciting game of round 25 in the TBL took place in Szczecin. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked PGE Turow (14-13) to seventh ranked Wilki Morskie (16-12) 94-93 in the game for the seventh place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PGE Turow. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 35-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Wilki Morskie made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Strangely PGE Turow outrebounded Wilki Morskie 37-20 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW, agency: Comsport) fired 22 points for the winners. The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) chipped in 17 points. Wilki Morskie's coach Marek Lukomski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five PGE Turow players scored in double figures. Wilki Morskie have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 16-12 record. PGE Turow at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Wilki Morskie are looking forward to face MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#10) on the road in the next round. PGE Turow will play against Polpharma and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
