Regular Season Round 36: Salon Vilpas - Kouvot 99-76

Date: March 26, 2016
The most important game in the last round took place in Salo between third ranked Kouvot (21-15) and seventh ranked Salon Vilpas (17-19) on Saturday night. Kouvot was crushed by Salon Vilpas on the road 99-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kouvot. The game was mostly controlled by Salon Vilpas. Kouvot managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Salon Vilpas shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds and Juho Nenonen (202-87) who added 20 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Four Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Malik Story (196-90, college: Nevada) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Alexander Madsen (205-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas moved-up to sixth place. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the second position with 15 games lost. They share it with Kauhajoki.
