BJ League round 49 caused change at the leadership position. Twelfth defeat of league's leader Shimane Magic (33-12) against seventh ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (26-19) 81-64 was the most important game of the last round. The game without a history. Kanazawa Samuraiz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) added 6 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Shimane Magic. Shimane Magic's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kanazawa Samuraiz have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 26-19 record. Shimane Magic at the other side dropped to the second position with 12 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Okinawa GK. Shimane Magic will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Kanazawa Samuraiz will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Shimane Magic at home.
