There was a minor upset when VOO Verviers-Pepinster (4-7) was defeated on the road by Leuven Bears (2-7) 95-79 on Saturday. The game without a history. Leuven Bears led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Leuven Bears especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Austrian forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 29 points for the winners. American guard Andre Hollins (188-92, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. American point guard Kelvin Parker (184-82, college: NW Missouri St.) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leuven Bears will meet Liege Basket (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play against Kangoeroes in Willebroek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
