Regular Season Round 24: Poitiers - Vichy Clermont 66-64

A very close game took place in Poitiers between Poitiers and JA Vichy. Seventh ranked Poitiers (13-11) got a very close home victory over 10th ranked JA Vichy (11-13). Poitiers managed to escape with a 2-point win 66-64 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-64. Poitiers forced 19 JA Vichy turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 assists and Romuald Morency (202-95) supported him with 9 points and 4 assists. Even 19 points and 5 assists by American point guard Dustin Ware (183-90, college: Georgia) did not help to save the game for JA Vichy. Naturalized Greek Angelo Tsagarakis (190-84) added 11 points. Poitiers maintains seventh position with 13-11 record. Newly promoted JA Vichy dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Nantes and Lille. Poitiers will meet higher ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. JA Vichy will play against the league's second-placed ALM Evreux where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
