Regular Season Round 25: Strasbourg - Chalon 86-78

ProA top team - Strasbourg IG (19-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Chalon/Saor (15-10) 86-78. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 30-20 last quarter charge of Chalon/Saor cut the lead to 86-78 at the end of the game. Strasbourg IG made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) nailed 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88, agency: Comsport) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists. Mathias Lessort (205-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Chalon/Saor in the defeat. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Strasbourg IG have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-6 record. Chalon/Saor lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Nanterre. Strasbourg IG will play against JDA Dijon (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalon/Saor will play against STB Le Havre and hopes to get back on the winning track.
