Regular Season Round 49: Iwate Big Bulls - Toyama Grouses 79-71

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Toyama Grouses (30-13) against sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (25-18) on Saturday night. Visiting Toyama Grouses were defeated by Iwate Big Bulls in a tough game in Iwate 71-79. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Toyama Grouses. It looked good early as Toyama Grouses took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Iwate Big Bulls had a 20-16 second period charge getting the lead and Toyama Grouses were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-79. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls maintains sixth place with 25-18 record. Toyama Grouses at the other side keep the second position with 13 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls' next round opponent will be again league's second-placed Toyama Grouses at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
