Regular Season Round 25: MKS DG - Slask Wroclaw 76-61

Very expected game when 14th ranked Slask (6-21) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (12-15) 76-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by MKS Dabrowa Gornicza. Slask was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Slask 42-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for MKS Dabrowa Gornicza especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84, agency: PEPI SPORT) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four MKS Dabrowa Gornicza players scored in double figures. Naturalized Ukrainian Vitaliy Kovalenko (204-84) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian-American forward Denis Ikovlev (200-86, college: Nevada) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza maintains tenth place with 12-15 record, which they share with AZS Koszalin. Loser Slask keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will face higher ranked Wilki Morskie (#7) in Szczecin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slask will play on the road against Asseco (#9) in Gdynia and hope to win that game.
