Very important is a road loss of third ranked Anwil (20-6) against sixteenth ranked Stabill (6-21) on Saturday night. Visiting Anwil was edged by Stabill in a tough game in Tarnobrzeg 83-84. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Anwil. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 18-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Stabill looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Stabill made 7 blocks. American guard Gary Bell (190-92, college: Gonzaga) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Jakub Zalewski (184-86) chipped in 15 points and 10 assists. At the losing side American-Haitian center Kervin Bristol (206-88, college: Fordham) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international center Robert Tomaszek (205-81, college: Texas Tech) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Stabill and four Anwil players scored in double figures. Stabill moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Loser Anwil keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Rosa Radom. Stabill will meet higher ranked Rosa (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anwil will play against the league's leader Stelmet having rather not much hope for a victory.
