Regular Season Round 23: Dinamo Tbilisi - Rustavi 74-75

The most exciting game of round 23 in the Superleague took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Dinamo Tbilisi (13-10) to sixth ranked Energy Invest (11-12) 75-74 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. It was a great evening for American center Kiel Turpin (213-89, college: Florida St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) helped adding 19 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Aubrey McAlpine (196, college: Robert Morris) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Energy Invest moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mgzavrebi. Dinamo Tbilisi lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Sokhumi. Energy Invest is looking forward to face league's leader Kutaisi at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mgzavrebi.
