Regular Season Round 27: Planasa NV - Palencia 94-81

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Palencia Baloncesto (21-6) in Pamplona on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fifteenth ranked Planasa NV (9-18) 94-81. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 38-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Palencia Baloncesto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Russian swingman Yaroslav Korolev (210-87) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Miguel Servera (199-92) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Planasa NV's coach Carlos Frade used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Palencia Baloncesto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Planasa NV moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Forca Lleida. Palencia Baloncesto at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Planasa NV is looking forward to face league's second-placed Melilla Baloncesto on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palencia Baloncesto will play against Lleida Basquet and is hoping to win this game.
