Quarter-Finals Round 2: Bamberg - Heidelberg 56-63
Date: March 27, 2016
Heidelberg knocked down Bamberg to advance into South Conference Finals. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Don Bosco Bamberg won fourth quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BasCats Heidelberg forced 19 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Point guard Sara Kranzhoefer (180-96) notched 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) supported her with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by American center Miranda Cantrell (183-93, college: Jacksonville St.) did not help to save the game for Don Bosco Bamberg. Latvian guard Ieva Jansone (180-90, college: Valparaiso) added 11 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
