Leader Flamengo delivered the twenty second victory. This time they beat 10th ranked Minas (11-16) 76-65 in Rio de Janeiro. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Minas was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Flamengo forced 20 Minas turnovers. American center Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia, agency: Stealth Sport) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Marcelo Machado (201-75, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 14 points. Guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Minas in the defeat. Four Minas players scored in double figures. Flamengo have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-5 record. Minas at the other side keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Flamengo's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Macae (#15) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Minas will play against Brasilia (#5) and hope to win that game.
