Regular Season Round 50: Hamamatsu P. - Kyoto Hannar. 58-64

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mikawa. 4th ranked host Hamamatsu Phoenix (30-14) lost to third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (33-11) 64-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hamamatsu Phoenix. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-19 Hamamatsu Phoenix's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 64-58 at the end of the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) supported him with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds by forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) did not help to save the game for Hamamatsu Phoenix. Guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) added 17 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyoto Hannar. maintains third position with 33-11 record having just two points less than leader Okinawa GK. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Iwate Big Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
