Very expected game when 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-41) was crushed on the road by third ranked Niigata Albirex (30-16) 108-79 on Sunday. The game without a history. Niigata Albirex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Niigata Albirex outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 44-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) responded with 29 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex maintains third position with 30-16 record having just three points less than leader Okinawa GK. Tokyo Cinq R. lost 35th consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 41 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play at home against Gunma (#9) and hope to win that game.
