Regular Season Round 25: Real Madrid - CAI Zaragoza 96-84
Date: March 27, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked CAI Zaragoza (8-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Real Madrid (20-5) 96-84. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. CAI Zaragoza was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Azerbaijani guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. Slovenian forward Luka Doncic (199-99) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. German forward Robin Benzing (208-89) answered with 23 points and Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CAI Zaragoza. Defending champion maintains third place with 20-5 record having just three points less than leader FC Barcelona. CAI Zaragoza at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Real Madrid's next round opponent will be UCAM Murcia (#8) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. CAI Zaragoza will play against Movil Estudiantes (#17) and hope to win that game.
