Regular Season Round 29: St Vallier - SAP Vaucluse 78-81

The most exciting game of round 29 in the NM1 took place in Saint Vallier. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-ranked Saint Vallier (18-11) to tenth ranked SAP Vaucluse (15-14) 81-78 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Saint Vallier. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 31-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. SAP Vaucluse made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Deremy Geiger (180-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Jonusas (200-82) chipped in 20 points. American swingman Rasheed Wright (196-80, college: ODU) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SAP Vaucluse have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Angers BC. Saint Vallier at the other side keeps the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Lourdes and Maurienne. SAP Vaucluse is looking forward to face higher ranked Caen (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Saint Vallier will play against JSA Bordeaux (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
