There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Berck (11-18) defeated at home higher ranked Rueil (17-12) 83-78 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Rueil was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) who scored 22 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Berck players scored in double figures. American forward Jonathan Mitchell (200-87, college: Rutgers, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and center Jeremie Douillet (205-91) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Berck maintains seventeenth place with 11-18 record. Loser Rueil keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Berck will face higher ranked Vendee Challans (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rueil will play against Angers BC (#8) and hope to win that game.
