Regular Season Round 29: Maurienne - GET Vosges 68-71

Important game to mention about took place in Aix-les-Bains. Sixth ranked GET Vosges (17-12) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Aix-Maurienne (18-11) 71-68 on Tuesday evening. It looked good early as Aix-Maurienne took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then GET Vosges had a 19-15 second period charge getting the lead and Aix-Maurienne was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-71. GET Vosges made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Naturalized Belgian point guard Charly Pontens (190-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. American center Kyle Tresnak (208-92, college: Weber St.) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Alexandre Mendy (190-90) answered with 15 points and point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) added 11 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Aix-Maurienne. GET Vosges moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Rueil. Aix-Maurienne at the other side dropped to the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Lourdes and St Vallier. GET Vosges will play against league's leader ADA Blois at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aix-Maurienne will play against Quimper UJAP and hopes to get back on the winning track.
