Top ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (7-3) recorded its third loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (7-3) 85-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ostioneros de Guaymas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Rayos de Hermosillo's 36. They outrebounded Rayos de Hermosillo 40-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 7 rebounds. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ostioneros de Guaymas moved-up to second place, which they share with Guasave and Hermosillo. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against league's leader Lobos UAD Mazatlan at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Tijuana Zonkeys and hopes to get back on the winning track.
