Regular Season Round 26: Torun - Polfarmex KT 72-71

Sixth-ranked AZS Polfarmex (17-11) was very close to win a game against second ranked Twarde Pierniki (22-6) in Torun. Twarde Pierniki managed to secure only one-point victory 72-71. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AZS Polfarmex. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 25-13 last quarter charge of AZS Polfarmex cut the lead to 72-71 at the end of the game. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) scored 19 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) chipped in 10 points during the contest. Jaroslaw Zyskowski (203-92, agency: Promotex) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Jacek Jarecki (196-88) scored 14 points. Twarde Pierniki have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-6 record having just two point less than leader Stelmet ZG. AZS Polfarmex at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Twarde Pierniki will play against Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round. AZS Polfarmex will play at home against MKS Start and hopes to get back on the winning track.
