There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (11-15) won against at home higher ranked Energa Czarni (18-8) 80-73 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Energa Czarni was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. DeShawn Delaney (196-92, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Stal Ostrow Wlkp. players scored in double figures. Stal Ostrow Wlkp.'s coach Zoran Sretenovic used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) replied with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Energa Czarni. Newly promoted Stal Ostrow Wlkp. maintains twelfth position with 11-15 record. Loser Energa Czarni keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. will face Stabill (#16) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round.
