No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Gunma (21-25) smashed on the road 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-43) 95-75. The game without a history. Gunma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 44 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 48-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) accounted for 19 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Cinq R. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Gunma moved-up to eighth place. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their 35th game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 43 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
