The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Scrivia's (6-19) home loss to eleventh ranked Carugate (9-16) 49-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 46-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for Arianna Beretta (178-96) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Guard Michela Frantini (175-83) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Florencia Palacios (183-85, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with 11 points and center Clara Salvini (180-92) added 4 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Scrivia. Scrivia's coach Franco Balduzzi gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Carugate maintains eleventh place in A2 with 9-16 record. Newly promoted Scrivia keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Carugate will face higher ranked Albino (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Scrivia will play against the league's second-placed Team Crema (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
