Regular Season Round 25: Ancona - Ferrara 41-60

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ferrara (22-3) crushed on the road 13th ranked Ancona (4-21) 60-41 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Ancona was better in third quarter 8-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ancona to just 6 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Ferrara forced 20 Ancona turnovers. It was a very good performance for Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Francesca De Chellis (183-98) answered with 8 points and 16 rebounds and Serbian power forward Kristina Ostojic (190-91) added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Ancona. Ferrara maintains second place in A2 with 22-3 record having five points less than leader Broni. Newly promoted Ancona keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Ferrara will face league's leader La Spezia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ancona will play against Castellammare (#6) in Stabia and hope to win that game.
