Regular Season Round 25: Milano - Bolzano 66-44

Date: April 2, 2016
Very expected game when 13th ranked Bolzano (5-20) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Milano (17-8) 66-44 on Saturday. The game without a history. Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Bolzano's 24. Milano forced 23 Bolzano turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Giulia Maffenini (175-92, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 steals. British-Portuguese center Lavinia Da Silva (186-88) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Elena Zambarda (180-87) answered with 16 points and 5 steals and guard Madalena Ribeiro Da Silva (170-90) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Milano maintains fourth place in A2 with 17-8 record. Newly promoted Bolzano keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Milano will face Costa Masnaga (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bolzano will play against the league's leader Broni (#1) and hope to win that game.
