Regular Season Round 25: Moron - El Olivar 58-66

We should mention about the upset which took place in Morón de la Frontera, where 8th ranked Moron (13-12) lost at home to eleventh ranked El Olivar (9-16) 58-66. It looked good early as Moron took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then El Olivar had a 13-9 second period charge getting the lead and Moron was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-66. American guard Tyler Gaffaney (193-92, college: Claremont-Mudd) nailed 24 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Marc Marti (204-97) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Gaffaney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) came up with 10 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) added 13 points respectively for Moron in the defeat. Moron's coach Javier Fijo rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted El Olivar maintains eleventh place with 9-16 record, which they share with Cambados. Moron at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. El Olivar's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Sammic ISB in Azpeitia and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
