Homenetmen (12-6) recorded a loss on the court of Byblos on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Byblos 95-79. The game was mostly controlled by Byblos. Homenetmen managed to win third quarter 26-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Byblos won last quarter 36-21. The best player for the winners was American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) who scored 27 points and 6 assists. International Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Five Byblos players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Tubbs (190-87, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Byblos is looking forward to face Louaize (#4) in the next round. Homenetmen will play against Tadamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
