Very expected game in Almagra where 9th ranked Lanus (19-29) was defeated by second ranked CASLA (28-21) 88-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by CASLA. Lanus managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lanus 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. International guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) fired 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five CASLA players scored in double figures. American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Daniel Stewart (201-92, college: Rider) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted CASLA maintains second place with 28-21 record having just three point less than leader Olimpico LB. Loser Lanus keeps the ninth position with 29 games lost. CASLA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lanus will play against the league's leader Olimpico de La Banda (#1) and hope to secure a win.
