Regular Season Round 51: Tokyo Cinq R. - Gunma 82-94

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-43) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Gunma (21-25) 94-82. Tokyo Cinq R. was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 52-38 second half run of Gunma. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who led the winners and scored 47 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) accounted for 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Malcolm Lemmons (193, college: CS San Marcos) came up with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) added 14 points and 17 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Cinq R. in the defeat. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R.'s coach Motofumi Aoki rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma moved-up to eighth place. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their 35th game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 43 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
